Jonathan is a researcher and writer focused on peacebuilding, climate governance, violent extremism, and peace operations. His work has included a project with the Institute for Security Studies (ISS Africa) to understand peacebuilding planning in Mozambique, as well as analysis of natural resource governance for conflict prevention and the relationship between climate change and fragility. He has also reported as a United Nations correspondent on international politics, human rights, and sustainable development for Al Jazeera English and IPS News from New York, Canada, France, and Mongolia. Jonathan holds an MA in Global Affairs from the University of Toronto,where his studies focused on building resilience to violent extremism and conflict sensitive investment.
