Concord has, in cooperation with out local partner P4DP, conducted and produced the final evaluation of the Sida funded “Access to Justice” programme implemented by the Carter Center in Liberia. The programme sought to strengthen judicial institutions, as well as bridge the gap between formal and informal justice providers by providing free awareness training and education on equal rights and access to justice to all citizens.
We collected hundreds of household surveys and conducted several focus group discussions and key informant interviews in order to produce the final evaluation of the theoretical foundation, methodological approach and programmatic implementation. The report identified key recommendations at the programmatic level to guide future programming by the Carter Center in Liberia and submitted central lessons learned that can inform programme development on justice sector reform and informal justice across the globe.
